As much as we hate it.....

We are needing to find Harley, our two-year-old Pekapoo a new home. I know I mentioned finding Harper a new home a few months back, but after having dog trainers out to the house to work with us, Harper is probably the best fit for our family because he loves kids. Harley is such a great dog....obedient, adorable, loving, totally housebroken, and loves to cuddle. His only downfall is that he is not a fan of children. We would really love to find a home for him, ideally with people that we know so that we could dogsit when needed. It obviously needs to be a home with no small children. If you know of such a home in need of an adorable dog, please let me know. It pains us to see him go, and we want to know he is going to be taken care of.

Check out my new KICKS!

A little known GEM of a kids store is not too far from our house. Kid to Kid. What an ingenious concept! A resale shop for kids. Some people out there have way too many clothes for their kids....I am of course not talking about myself here....I mean, you can't have enough clothes for a three month old girl. But several others end up selling back their new or gently used clothes...many with tags still on them to Kid to Kid. This is where I have found so many of Addison's cutest outfits. I was in the store for about the tenth time before she was even born and found these CUTE pink tennis shoes from Gymboree. Check out the ruffles.
I promise she smiled right before I took this picture and I wasn't able to capture it! Auggh!
This is my husband's daughter....always checking out the TV.

Nana's Retired!

Nana has finally retired! After being in education for 40 years (and a principal for 35 of those years), she is finally hanging it up. We are so excited to spend more time with her. And I am thrilled to have a wonderful babysitter!
Last night we went to celebration dinner at Americas, which just opened up on the Waterway. The food was SOOO good! Addison got to dress up for the special occasion.

The following video must be watched. I mentioned in the last post how we finally purchased a Wii. Well, it's absolutely addictive. I had been telling my mom all about it and trying to explain how it's not a typical video game. She came over for coffee this morning and I just showed her the tennis game that I absolutely love. I let her try and she didn't give the remote back for an entire hour. I'm thinking I know the perfect birthday gift for her come July.

Weekend at the Lake

We had such a great weekend at Inks Lake with friends...it was nice to know there was life after baby! I don't remember laughing so hard....maybe ever. Addison did great on her first overnight trip away from home and mom and dad got little sleep...but not because of a baby, maybe more because of the Wii...our newest addition. Who knew that thing could be that much fun? It's really sad how sore I am this morning....and even more sad that it's not from something admirable like wake boarding or kite tubing....but from Wii Tennis.

Unfortunately, we were having so much fun that I was terrible about taking pictures. So see Mary Anderle's blog to see what really went on. She's so much better at telling it than I would be anyways. Thank you Matt and Georgia for a great weekend!!

Happy Tuesday!

I have to say, I'm on a blog roll! Three days in a row qualifies as a record for me.
So after not taking a nap AT ALL yesterday, Addison has really turned it around today. She slept 11 hours last night....STRAIGHT...and has taken three good naps already today. Wierd, but I'll take it. She's been in the best mood today...lots of smiles and cooing...I love it!

We actually got out of the house today and went to the mall. I burned a gift card at Barnes n Noble and bought this book because I had heard such good things about this website. The book looks awesome and I can't wait to try the recipes! I highly recommend it!

The chocolate lover in me is very excited to try this recipe. I am such an ice cream fanatic, but trying to get off baby weight and downing Dreyers Fully Loaded Peanut Butter Cup are not good combinations.

Chocolate Coated Mouse Cream Cones

2 cake/ flat ice cream cones

1 Jell-O Sugar Free Pudding Snack

2 TBL sugar-free chocolate syrup

1/2 cup of cool whip (I Love cool-whip!)

Pour 1 tablespoon of chocolate syrup into each cone. Swirl around until the inside of each cone is evenly coated and then place cones in freezer. Place cool whip and pudding in small dish and stir. Chill dish in freezer for 45 minutes to an hour until mousse is ice cold and set, but not fully frozen. Spoon mousse into and on top of cone. If desired, top with a drizzle of chocolate syrup. Yum! And only 84 calories and 1 gram of fat!

Fathers' Day Part Deaux

As I sit down to blog, my child is sleeping for the first time today....at 7:38pm. Usually a champion sleeper, she has been wide eyed all day....and none too happy. Sure we had a lot going on...sure I made her wear a tutu for half the day and then put a wetsuit, sunhat, and sunglasses on her and put her in the pool purely for my selfish enjoyment. I guess I had it coming.
The pacifier is our best friend. I know that one day I will regret this but for right now, it's the number one trick in my box.
Scowling....again. I promise..she does smile once in a while. Come on over to our house anytime between 7 and 8am and you're sure to catch a few.
And so the dress up begins...and out comes the bottom lip.
This lasted about 2.5 seconds.
I can't help but laugh at this pic. Poor baby.

Dad on pacifier duty while taking in the US Open.
Driving home from my parents, she was screaming bloody murder....not having anything to do with the pacifer, I desperately gave her my finger and she wouldn't let me move it for the rest of the drive home. It was cracking me up.

Fathers Day Part 1

We surprised daddy this morning by sending him off to golf with good friends Sam and Matt, while Georgia, Sheila and I stayed behind and put together lunch for the guys. They had a great time and it was so fun to get to spend good time with friends. Afterwards, Andy had the magic touch of getting Addison settled down from all the excitement and she was out like a light.
Tonight we got to hang out with our new neighbors, Justin, Suzanne, and Julianne who just recently moved three houses down. We are so lucky to have them so close! The adults got to enjoy some great food and wine, and two year old Julianne was a natural babysitter...her hourly rate was really great compared to the older ones. I'll have to keep her on speed dial.
Addison loved looking at her new friend, and Julianne was awesome with pacifier duty!

Getting So Big

Addison at nine weeks

Ok, so I know it's been forever since I updated and I've been terrible about taking pictures. Addison is changing every day and she's just getting so big! I didn't even realize it until I started looking back at pictures from just a few weeks ago...it's hard to believe.

First Babysitter!!

Ok, I have to brag on Sam Cocke, Sheila's husband. I needed a girls' night out and missed my friends from Sunday school badly! They were planning a night out to the melting pot that was calling my name....but poor Andy had a super hard, long day at work and was going to be stuck there until late..very late. So...I didn't even think going with the girls was an option...which was fine. Addison and I would have a girls' night of our own....until Sheila called me Monday afternoon and told me Sam wanted to babysit.

Sam WANTED to babysit. How sweet is that? Sam and Sheila are expecting their first bambino in November and we are all super excited for them. I decided if Sam really wanted to Addison would be good practice, right? He did such an amazing job and when I got home after a wonderful night out with girls, he had her asleep in his arms. Way to go Sam! So much thanks to both you and Sheila. Addison and I were so appreciative.

Fun Visits

One of my dearest friends, Ashley was visiting from Austin this weekend and met Addison for the first time. Ashley and her husband, Ben, are about to partake in an incredible adventure of their own. They are moving to New York! I'm so excited for both of them and I know she is only a plane ride away! I will be visiting!!
