And so it begins...

Addison's new thing is digging through my purse.  She prefers my wallet over anything else.  Fabulous.  Today I saw her playing with it and as I got closer this is what I found.

Already taking us for everything we got.  Notice she left the ones and the five, but as for the ten......

Automatic no more

I just had to share a few pics from my little practice session today.  We got a new camera about a month ago and I've been a little overwhelmed as to how to go about using it.  So I have been sticking to mostly automatic and other easy settings.

Well I have finally ventured out into the manual world.  I thought there were a few that turned out pretty good and I love how much better the lighting comes out.

I promise after this no more swing pictures for a while...it's just an easy moving object to practice on.  Oh...and it's a sure way to get her to smile.

A Night for Dad

Ok this first pick I just thought was cute and has nothing to do with a night for Andy.  Addison was on her way to a birthday party and dad was about to go play golf (mom had to get him out of the house)

so she could do this....

Andy's 30th was back in December and the poor guy got no birthday surprise because I had just had my surgery, so I surprised him last night by inviting 15 guys over for poker and food and left with Addison for the night.

after making sure they had plenty of food/drinks...
Game on....
When dad got back from golf he was very surprised!

And while the wife and kid are away....the boys will play...

Addison and I had another sleepover at the Cocke's.  This time Addison wore her own PJ's home instead of doing the walk of shame over again...
Happy Belated 30th Dad!

Not a Fun Friday

So this morning Addison and I headed out to the Y, so I could get a quick swim workout in before her morning nap.  When I went to pick her up at 10:15 she was already exhausted, since she's used to getting her morning nap by 9:30.  We got in the car to head home when I saw that my tire pressure sensor showed my back tire at 12 PSI.  Not good.

I decided to try to make it to Discount Tire before it went totally flat.  The guy told me they could fix it....in about THREE hours!  It's not like I could go anywhere.  So there I am in a wet swimsuit with a crying baby who is way past naptime.

Since Hooters (the only restaurant within walking distance) was not open yet, the guys suggested that I go wait it out at Sams (not a short walk).  Of course this would be the day I forgot the stroller.  So Addison and I (wet swim suit, remember?) walk on over to Sams and kill 2 hours.  Now I love Sams, but 2 hours with a crying baby?  Not fun.

When I got back to DT, they said there were 4 people still left in front of me.  I pleaded my desperate case and they got us in thankfully and repaired the flat.

Augghhh!  I need a weekend.

Lions, Tigers, Bears and No Nap....Oh My!

Time for a field trip to the zoo!  We drove in town today (1.5 getting there, isn't that crazy!) to meet Aunt Sarah and Addison's cousins at the zoo.  Then we got to meet daddy and Uncle Mike at Freebirds for lunch...what a treat!

Addison was excited about her day even though she fought and won against her morning nap on the way.

I don't remember ever being this "close" to the animals before.  Aren't cheetah's known for their speed, agility, and jumps?  Is a FOUR FOOT tall mesh fence really going to stop them???
THe picture doesn't do my fear justice, but you can tell from the back of the kids' heads that we were REALLY close.
Baby giraffe!  This baby was only 19 DAYS old.  You can see it giving its handler a little giraffe kiss.
Eloise and Owen
Looking at the leapord
Lions take a nap.....
Bears take naps......
Does Addison take a nap???  No!!!

Her first carousel ride!  Thanks Aunt Sarah!!  She held on so steady like a pro.

What a fun day!!

Happy Valentine's Day!

So I know Valentine's Day is an over-commercialized holiday that puts way too  much pressure on guys....or maybe it causes wives to put too much pressure on husbands....but nevertheless, it's one of my favorite holidays.....always has been.

So this year, I took it into my own hands.  I made little coupons for Andy to open up throughout the day and told him not to worry about anything.  (He knows this means I still expect (hope) for a card)...but besides that...no pressure!

Anyways, I got up this morning and made some pancakes for all of us and sent Andy out to the driving range.  When he got back we headed out to the park and then to TCBY before naptime.

Frisbee golf

I love this picture!!  Her face lights up anytime her daddy is nearby.
Not so fast!!  You got to be quick with this little girl...

She's Back!

After a week and a half of the stomach flu and cutting her first tooth (finally!).....
Addison's mood was less than wonderful.

However, after getting out into the beautiful sunshine as well as a dose or two of Motrin she's finally back into the swing of things....and so is mom!

Ten

Ten Fingers....
Ten Toes....
TEN MONTHS OLD!!!

I can't believe it.

Ten things you may or may not know about Addison...

1. I love to climb.  Everything.  Stairs, Toys, Mom....

2. I want to do whatever the big kids are doing

3. I love to swing

4. I cry when I don't get my way... mom is very excited about the terrible twos.

But if you work really hard, I'll give you that gummy smile.

5. I am Daddy's little peanut.

6. I love mail.  Real mail...fake mail, it doesn't matter.

7. Peek a boo is one of my favorite games.

8. I love to pull books off shelves and tables.  Doesn't mean I want to read them, but throwing them everywhere is lots of fun.

9. I love my puppy.  He scares me sometimes but makes me laugh more.

10. I can get pretty much whatever I want by flashing my big blue eyes.  Note to self...remember this when I am sixteen.
