I decided to try to make it to Discount Tire before it went totally flat. The guy told me they could fix it....in about THREE hours! It's not like I could go anywhere. So there I am in a wet swimsuit with a crying baby who is way past naptime.
Since Hooters (the only restaurant within walking distance) was not open yet, the guys suggested that I go wait it out at Sams (not a short walk). Of course this would be the day I forgot the stroller. So Addison and I (wet swim suit, remember?) walk on over to Sams and kill 2 hours. Now I love Sams, but 2 hours with a crying baby? Not fun.
When I got back to DT, they said there were 4 people still left in front of me. I pleaded my desperate case and they got us in thankfully and repaired the flat.
Augghhh! I need a weekend.
ok....not fun at all, but at least it's over...right?!?! i can only imagine how frusterating!!! it's 1:45, and in my opinion that is NOT too early to pour yourself a glass of vino!
ReplyDeleteOh my word - I am so sorry for your morning - I wish you had called me, I would have picked you up!!! A 2 hour Sams trip for me would have been bad bad bad :)
ReplyDeletethat sounds TERRIBLE!! :( Good thing it's Friday and you'll have Andy's help to look forward to :)
ReplyDeleteYou should have called someone...you could have called me. I was actually over in portifino this morning. You need to put my digits in your phone in case you are in a bind again. I even had two extra carseats just waiting to be used. How miserable!
ReplyDeleteThat does not sound like any fun at all!!!! So sorry....but I do have to say I laughed at the thought of you in a wet bathing suit for 2 hours in Sams!!! (it was a sad laugh though - don't worry)
ReplyDeleteOh man...how crazy! Something very similar happened to me when I was pregnant! My tire was very flat from a slow leak and I had Katie with me. Stopped at Discount Tire to have it fixed. I walked to Sams super preggers with Katie and spent a good hour and half there. Came back and still wasn't done. After 2 hours I finally said forget it and told them to put some air in it and I'd bring it back. Sounds like they are notorious for taking forever! Funny though how the stories are similar! Although walking around in a wet swimsuit sounds like torture! :P
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry that happened. It makes for a good story, though. Sam's in a wet swim suit in February. Hope they were serving up some awesome samples.
ReplyDeleteOh no! Hopefully you can look back and laugh at the day of chaos!
