Apparently, the appraisal of our new house is in "quality control". I didn't know what this meant until yesterday. Everything was a go, the appraisal was done, but on Friday the bank decided that they didn't like the comps the appraiser used on our new house. "There were not enough comps in close proximity." Problem is you can't make up comps that don't exist. The floorplan and square footage of our new house only matches 3 other houses in our neighborhood. And guess what, they haven't been on the market in recent years, so there is nothing to compare!
It's so hard to explain because even I don't understand it. All I know is that we are not closing Monday....and our broker cannot even tell us when we will close. Could be Tuesday, could be 2 weeks from now. Except remember that everything is packed, movers are scheduled and we have to be out of our house by Thursday.
I know that this does not measure high on the 'World's Richter Scale of Problems", but to us at this moment, it's a huge stress. I am trying my best to just release it to God because, obviously, there is nothing I can do about it and he already knows what will come out of this. It's easier said than done, but I am trying.
oh how frustrating!!!! I am so sorry!!
ReplyDeleteOh, Melissa, I'm so sorry. Praying for all loose ends to be tied quickly with a bow!
ReplyDeleteOh Melissa...how frustrating. Grrr... Hope they figure it all out soon.
ReplyDeleteI completely understand how frustrated you are. Our closing on the new house got pushed back a full week. We were homeless and moved in with my parents until it finally happened. And they can never give you an exact date... Hang in there; it will be worth it!
ReplyDeleteOh dear, that is just terrible. I'm so sorry that you are dealing with a delay on top of everything else! I'll add a speedy closing to my prayer list :)
ReplyDeleteoh goodness! I'm sure this is a huge stress! I'm hoping it all works itself out quickly!
ReplyDeletehang in there...hope y'all were able to work something out!! let me know if you want to meet to give us back the bike.
