We were so excited to get to spend the weekend with friends up at Lake Conroe. There was a lot of sun, a lot of food, a lot of drinks, laughs, and a lot of snake.
Yeah, we had been at the house for about an hour when us girls got our drinks and opened the back door to go lay out by the pool....and screamed.
I didn't even have to look outside. I know a snake scream when I hear one. I ran and cried and panicked. I don't do snakes. Not even close. I'm scared to walk through the reptile house at the zoo. I don't trust even glass as a barrier, which is why I barely looked out the window to see what the fuss was about.
Here is what the fuss was about.
6....that is SIX foot snake right outside the door.
Yeah, but how do you know it was 6 foot? I mean, I'm sure you're exaggerating, right?
Uh, no.
We know. We know because after the guys killed it they laid it out and measured it....and then threw it into the lake....which I refused to get near all weekend.
But we still enjoyed the fresh pool water.
And so did Graham who was tickled to be held by Kim.
and had a ball with dad.
Prepare yourself for cuteness overload. I'm sorry, it's just going to be obnoxious.
already flirting with the girls....
and Addison did get in the lake. (She didn't see the snake, so she wasn't as affected.)
but just thrilled all the same.
She is gripping onto daddy for dear life and I am gripping onto her. I was not so thrilled by the situation.
and apparently, nor was she.
but they did it for a little while!
and Graham and I enjoyed from the safety of the boat.
well just for the blog record...we were there too!! :) ha, sorry jake had to ruin all the fun! maybe next year he and graham can tube together - yikes!
ReplyDeleteHa! So 'no' to any triathlons in open water swim? :)
ReplyDeleteEEEK..I hate snakes too and they are all over the Lake Conroe. Love all the pictures though. Where is the picture of the snake?? Could you not get close enough to take a picture even when it was dead? ?LOL. Glad you enjoyed the pool!
