The move

Back from Colorado we got down to the business of moving...
one more trip with the kids to La Costa..

Just before heading to the airport with the kids we took a couple more pictures in front of a house that had such special memories for us

There were excited to see Nana!
And thank God for Nana who had so kindly agreed to keep these two for TEN days so Andy and I could handle the move without kids underfoot.
I seriously don't know what we would have done without the help.
Best thing about being home in Houston is having family close by again.

After dropping kids off in Texas with Nana and Poppy,  Andy and I returned back to San Diego to see the move through.
It started to get real.
Our cars got shipped, the truck showed up and the packing began...

One of the best things about a corporate move is you don't pack.
One downfall to this is you don't know where anything is when you get there.....

We decided to take advantage of free shipping to Texas and went shopping for anything we wanted to take back and put on the truck.
We found our favorite item in the new house the last day in California.
We call it our California driftwood, but we really found it in the basement of this cool art shop in Solana Beach.  Thank goodness we took a chance on not knowing if it would fit.....it's absolutely perfect in our entryway art niche and we LOVE it.

One last night at La Costa....

and then it was Andy's and my turn to head to the airport with a one way ticket to Texas.

on the way to my parents from the airport, we wasted no time in getting reacquainted with Texas food.

At the new house taking in the different backyard.....

one of two many to count trips to Container Store...

and then the unpacking began.....
Gulp.

This almost gives my anxiety just looking at it again....

Ugh....

There was a lot of this to get through the above...

All done!  With the kitchen at least....

Just in time for Addison's first day of first grade!!!
She started school two days after moving into the new house.

It made it a lot easier already having friends walking in on the first day...
