Grandparents sure are great!
Nana has been a huge help this week taking time to spend each day with us doing whatever needs to be done, including bonding with Addison so mom can sleep. Again, I couldn't have done it without you! Friday, my first day at home alone, will come too soon!
Papa finally got to come visit Addison this week after having to stay away because he had been sick. He was all smiles and so cute with his little granddaughter.

Welcome home Addison
Ignore the double chin please. I made the mistake of putting away all of maternity clothes last night and stepping on the scale this morning. Talk about depressing!! I won't be doing that again for quite a while.
I love my little cuddle bug. She loves being held and is so content in your arms. Sometimes I wish she would stay this little forever!
Her first time in her swing gave some credibility to those reviews at babies r us. There is a reason this thing has 5 stars. It's magical and she loves it. This is also a rare glimpse of her eyes since they are closed all the time. This kid sleeps like a champ!
Today I got her started on the bows. I figured she better be getting used to these things.
Enough of the hospital!!!
I finally had enough of the blue light and took her out for a few minutes of bonding time. Sunday morning, our test showed the numbers had gone down, so we packed up the car, got her in her going home outfit, went over the discharge with the nurse, and waiting around for the Dr.
This was Addison's reaction when they told us we couldn't go home yet. Mine was close to the same.
Daddy had to console his two girls quite a bit. But finally....at 5pm on Sunday after 5 days in the hospital, we were given the ok to go home!!!

Our First Few Days with Addison
Andy is loving his new role as daddy and I know this little girl already has him wrapped around her tiny little finger. He is a champ at changing diapers and swaddling. He even has some of the nurses beat. I'm waiting for him to show me his trick.
Grandma Lois and Grandpa came to meet her on Friday and we are SOOO excited they are staying with us until next weekend. Addison is such a cuddler and already much prefers falling asleep on you as opposed to any cradle/bassinet. I just love after she feeds when she continues to cuddle and sleep right on me. It's the most beautiful thing.
So today, we got some "not great" news. Addison's billieruben (jaundice) levels have continued to climb. We were supposed to be discharged last night (Friday), but for some reason, I wasn't quite ready. I asked to stay one more night. This morning (Saturday) they told me that her levels had climbed from 12 to 16 and were concerned about how quickly they had climbed. So now they want her to stay at least until Sunday and have "phototherapy"...hense the blue light. I have been discharged, but thankfully can remain at the hospital under parent care....meaning I stay in the same room we have been in and take care of her (i.e. get to nurse and try to soothe her as she cries) but am no longer a patient.....meaning get your own pain medicine and food. Fine by me.
She's got these googles she has to wear so I can't see her beautiful blue eyes, but I try to think of it like she's getting a healthy suntan. So please be praying for beautiful pink skin and low levels tomorrow so we can take her home and introduce her to her two puppies and get her settled in.

She's here!
This morning right before we left for the hospital...I made Andy take one last picture of the belly.....
Her first picture....she let us know her lungs were working. It was just so beautiful to hear that cry. They were working to get her pretty hard because she was "jammed" up in there, so it was just such a relief to finally see her and know she was ok. My doctor was playing KSBJ music in the operating room and right when she was born, such a beautiful song "To God be the Glory" came on and my doctor said it was dedicated to little Addison. Thank you God for this beautful blessing!
Our first family pic. Addison arrived at 10:44 am this morning weighing in at 7lbs, 11 oz. and is 20 1/4 inches long!
Right after her bath. We'll post more pictures soon. She is sleeping well already and feeding is going well too.......and I'm very thankful for morphine at this point.

Little Addison is not so little....
We are so excited to meet her and can't believe it's right around the corner. I know I've been stingy on pictures lately, but seriously, our lives have been pretty boring. If you wanted to see pictures of me cleaning out everything I could think of....closets, pantry, fridge/freezer....heck, I even oiled my front door! I could show you those, but then I'd officially be boring you. Everything is about to get a lot more exciting and I'm sure you guys will be sick of the pictures soon enough!!
