One Year Pics

We were fortunate to get to work with Shannon again and got some cute pics at Market Street.  One thing to note about my child....She does not smile on command (nor do many 12 month olds I guess)..but she takes it one step further.  If she knows you want her to smile she will refuse to do so...which may or may not escalate into a fit.  So photo sessions are a lot of fun.  Shannon is a saint.

Miss serious

This one cracks me up...it's like she's striking a pose.

A few randoms

Well, I'm sure like everyone else in Houston, we have been going a little stir crazy lately and have a major case of cabin fever thanks to all this rain!

Addison is on the verge of walking.  She'll take a step or two and then fall, but she's really trying to figure it all out.  I'm really hoping she picks this up in the next two weeks in time for our trip coming up to Hawaii.  It would be nice to "walk" the plane during out EIGHT hour flight.  Any ideas on how to keep a 13 month old occupied for a long flight...I'm all ears.

Here are some random pics from tonight.  We're a little boring lately.

Lovin' bath time
In her "serious" mode.  The girl is finally getting interested in books.  I mean, she might let you sit with her for three minutes and read.  This is an improvement from the previous 30 seconds.
And these curls...I love it!!!  I'm hoping these stick around.

Addison has something to share....

That's right, another little blessing...

God willing, Addison will have a new little brother or sister come early December.

We're very excited!!!

Since dad won't mow the lawn....

I guess that just leaves me.

Maybe It's Just me....

But I came across this picture the other day of me when I was about Addison's age....
and I'll be darned, I might get some credit for this child after all!

I think part of it is that she's started the thumb thing lately and her hair is this cute mess of soft curls...so it just reminded me a bit of her.

And then these are just some random ones from today.  Addison has been obsessed with this car that she got from Nana and Poppy.  So far all she has been able to do is play the horn incessantly (much to the joy of Andy), but today I turned around and she had helped herself in it and was "driving" down the hall. Big girl...I'm sure I'll blink my eyes, and it will be 15 years later in a real car.  Maybe if you're lucky I'll get you an 1986 Toyota Cressida just like Mommy's first car.

Old and New Friends

Our sweet friends came to visit this week from Michigan.  Heidi and I have known each other for twenty years now, and I love any chance that I get to see her and her beautiful girls!  You may remember Kaiya, aka...miracle baby from previous posts earlier in the year.  God has been working a true miracle in this sweet baby's recovery.  I'm so glad I finally got to meet her in person!

Ava and Addison are almost exactly a year apart and these two had so much fun together.  Addison thought Ava was hilarious and loved getting to play with her.  We wish we could just move those other states out of the way and squeeze Texas and Michigan together so we can see you guys more often!

Heidi and beautiful, Kaiya
All together again!  Heidi, Alicia, and I taught for two years together and it was so fun to have everyone back together.  This was the best pic we could get with all the kiddos.

She'll have her cake....and then some.

Today was the big day. Well...the second big day anyway....but you know it's always about the party...and more importantly, CAKE!!

Addison did not hold back. At all. See for yourself.

Such a big weekend....both sets of Grandparents were in to celebrate with Addison, Egg Hunts, friends to play with, and more sugar than a girl should ever eat, but so much fun!

Can you say, "Sugar High???"

Addison,

I can't believe that you are a year old today!  I remember holding you for the first time like it was yesterday.  Your daddy and I can't imagine life without you.  You bring us so much joy and have completely changed us. We are so in love with you.
