Re Cap

Wow....it's been a while since I've blogged and lots has happened.

Let's start with last week. The. best. week. ever.

Andy took Addison with him to Oklahoma for his dad's 60th birthday and to see old friends. He had mentioned wanting to go a while back and not knowing how I'd be with the baby, kind of joking said, "Sure go! Just take Addison". And he actually thought this was a great idea!

So it was me and little man from Tuesday through Sunday. I cried when Andy loaded up the car with Addison...it was the longest time I had been away with her. I went back inside the house and fed Graham and though, "What am I going to do with myself for five days?"...
I figured it out real quick.

This was how Graham spent much of those 5 days.
We made up for 2 months stuck inside the house. Graham was so EASY! He just slept and enjoyed having all my attention to himself. We met friends for dinner, went shopping, and ran errands just because we could. It was awesome. Oh...and he took about 4 naps a day. I mean, does it get much better?

Cutie patootie

And today was a big day because this guy rolled over! I put him on his playmat for tummy time for maybe only the 4th time in his life....(second child),
and went to pick Addison off the floor from one of her tantrums, came back, and he was like this....I tried it again to see if it was a fluke and same thing.
Little miss ....who is finally talking ALL THE TIME.

I was so concerned because at her 15 month check-up she only had about NO words, so I had a speech therapist working with her for a while. Well, we got to say goodbye to her this week because the girl will not shut up. I know you always hear that's how it is, but seriously, two weeks ago....maybe 100 words, now... Andy and I are having to spell out delicate words because she repeats just about anything.

And being the typical native Houstonian, I had to document the flurries this week. No way I let my child go out and "play" in that. We stayed in our pajamas all day that day....and the day before come to think of it.
Look closely and you can see them, I promise.

Graham is the happiest baby ever. He is smiling and cooing all of the time.
Except when I forget to feed him for about 5 hours.
Then he gets a little cranky.

I could eat him up.
And finally, there are no pictures needed for this story.

I'll make it as concise as possible.

Yesterday.
Had to go to OB/GYN
With both kids.
By myself.
Brought DVD player.
And about 5 other toys
Wait was so long.
Had time to Watch Elmo's World...5 times.
That's 1 hour 40 minutes if you're not into Elmo
About 1 Elmo's World in, nurse tells me to undress and wait for Dr.
Addison figures out how to open door.
Quickly dress.
Chase Addison down hall.
Take Graham out of stroller to use it to restrain 2 year old.
Hold screaming baby and nurse him to stop the crying.
Glare at Dr. when he walks in with 2 screaming kids.
Wants me to get an ultrasound
Are you kidding me? Who's going to hold these kids?
I know what you're thinking...
NO, I'm not pregnant.
Everything is fine and I learned a valuable lesson.
Don't try to carry screaming toddler up slide at Pump it Up 2 months after C-section.
And don't EVER take my kids to OB/GYN again unless it's to serve as birth control.

Cake on a Stick

After reading another blog yesterday about a cute Valentine baking party, I was inspired....
let's be honest...doesn't take much inspiration to get me thinking about sweets.

I have been wanting to take a crack at cake balls for a while now. If you ever read Bakerella's blog, you will too. I decided to try the cake pops yesterday to bring to a little party I went to last night. They were amazingly delicious.

Now I'm wanting to make all kinds of cake balls...especially the little Sesame Street ones on Bakerella's blog. If I'm really ambitious, I might have a go at those for Addison's birthday in April. The problem is that now I have tons left over at my house and my baby weight is not coming off by itself or with the assistance of these sinful guys.

The following pics pretty much sum up our week....

We have pretty much stayed in the house and been in a pajamas until about 3 o' clock everyday. And I'm still exhausted! 2 under 2 keeps you busy no matter what you're doing.

and this little guy started giving me major smiles this morning. I'll get some pics of those and post them soon.
Alright, well if you want to support my weight loss and want some cake pops, you know where to find them!

Elmo Live

Last Friday our playgroup went to see the Sesame Street Live show at Reliant Arena. For Addison, it was like the Beatles in my parents' generation, or like me seeing N'Sync in college (no, I'm not ashamed, I was obsessed)....girl was peeing her pants, I"m sure.

Although when we got there and the show was delayed 20 minutes, girl was not having it. Wanted to walk up and down the stairs, be anywhere but her seat....all while I have Graham bjorned to me. Not an easy first legit outing with 2 under 2.

So what to do? Buy the child an overpriced souvenir to keep her occupied. Finally, and thankfully, the show started.

and the child was mesmerized.....

wasn't really able to get a lot of pictures because I was juggling Graham and attempting to keep Addison from rushing the stage.

But we had friends who were willing to share their snacks...

and where there's food, there's Addison.

Forgive the picture quality, but it was all I could do to get out the door, let alone bring the big camera....

see the bjorned baby?

This was me trying to distract her during the 15 minute intermission. Who's bright idea was it to have a 20 minute INTERMISSION for a show with 5,000 2 year olds?

Multitasking at it's best.....Andy...we will be late to meet you from lunch..
Addison and her friend, Grayson....who was nice enough to share his bucket of popcorn.
Which was great until Addison dumped it out and started picking it up and eating it off the floor....SHOW OVER.

More junkfood to keep her in her seat
Konked out!!! An exhausting day, but SO fun!

The Forgotten Pics

When I was downloading pics from the movie yesterday (post below) I realized I had a few "forgotten" ones from January when we were without our other camera.

Little Princess loves dress up

Graham smiling

We gave another go at Addison a haircut....with a little more success than last time and a lot of bribes...

The Big Show

Andy and I decided to take the kids to a movie yesterday. We've really been wanting to see George Clooney's Up in the Air, so we thought we'll just take them along and cover their ears and eyes during the inappropriate parts.....

Kidding.

Instead we went to see ....

We thought we scored when we walked in the theater and we were the only ones there. No worries! Well, right before the movie started, ONE lady walked in. I hope she wasn't expecting a nice, relaxing, QUIET time at the movies.

Addison was yelling out "SHOW!, SHOW!" for the first five minutes and totally mesmerized. Couldn't even get her to look at the camera.

And then there was a little problem with the seats....

So her interest in the show lasted about 10 minutes. Then the lit up stairs got her attention. So Andy and I spent the next hour and a half making laps with her around the theater.and bribing her with skittles to get back in her seat.

I seriously was fine with waving my white flag and leaving, but Andy was determined to make it to the end of the movie. I think he secretly was quite into it.

And little Graham slept through the entire thing and stayed in his seat just fine.

2 Months

We took Graham in for his 2 month check up today. I was sitting in the newborn room and a couple walked in with a 5 day old little one. I couldn't believe how huge Graham looked next to him. He is growing up so fast! Because this is most likely our last baby, I am really having mixed feelings at all these little milestone markers. I don't want my baby to grow up! I do want him to sleep through the night however....

Graham at 2 months

Our first attempt didn't go over so well....
and a good reminder of what he looked like this morning after his shots poor baby.

Because this blog is the closest thing I'll have to a baby book for the little guy,
here are his stats....

11 lbs 15 oz. (50-75%)
23 inches (50-75%)
Head 16 inches (50-75%)

Here's what you've been up to little guy..

* You love being on your play mat
*You adore any ceiling fan
*You just recently started sleeping in your crib instead of the bassinet
*You are wearing size 1-2 diapers
*You are in 0-3 clothes
*Your big sister loves taking care of you and always wants to cover you with a blanket and give you your paci.
*You are still nursing about 8 times a day
*You are taking a last feeding around midnight and waking up once or twice during the night....stop this, please. =)
*I secretly love cuddling with you at 4 in the morning....you are my last baby after all, and there will come a day, when I'm going to miss this!
