Happenings

I haven't blogged much in a while because I feel like I'm constantly playing catch up....with photos, with cleaning , um still have to catch up on cleaning, and when I'm not playing catch up at night I've been sucked into shows like HOMELAND.  Oh my heavens, if you have not watched that show, watch it.  You'll finish two seasons in a matter of a week, it's crazy good.

Another reason I haven't blogged is there just isn't much to blog about, but here are some of our more recent pics.

There has been a lot of this around here.....because I'm playing catch up.

Then last week, 3 out of 4 of us got haircuts. The other one is growing out her hair.

The Before...

That is a tail or something..

and this kid has thicker hair than I do.
she does not.

The after

Addison and Graham really do play well together....

except when they do not.

so there has been a lot of this around here as well.

Our sunny San Diego tax has finally paid off and the weather for this weekend looks gorgeous.  Looking forward to getting out of the house and enjoying it.

Annie's sprinkle

My sweet friend, Annie, is about to welcome a FOURTH BOY.  She'll appreciate that I put that in all caps.  I think that's something that's definitely caps worthy.  =) Four boys.
Annie was made to be a momma.  She handles the chaos of motherhood so well.  She's real about challenges she faces, which a momma like myself appreciates.

Karen threw her such a sweet surprise sprinkle to celebrate Noah last Saturday.
We were all thrilled to get together and not only celebrate this little one, but celebrate the fact that all of us moms had two hours to ourselves with friends...can I get an amen?

On with the pics.  Thanks so much Karen for hosting, as always, you're amazing!
There were a bunch of bumps at this sprinkle....something must be in the water.
 Water that I won't be drinking.  =)

I am not much of a game girl, but I loved watching Karen's take on how long her string should be to go around Annie's belly.

 a tad off

Annie's gift from the group of us was a day at the La Costa Spa.
I need to remind Andy that this was the best Valentine's gift ever last year, and if he is looking for any ideas for THIS Valentine's Day, he need look no further.
Andy, if you're reading this.....Valentine's Day is less than a month away. )

To my sweet friend....cheers!
We can't wait to meet Noah.

Ten on Ten: January

I have been admiring other Ten on Tens for over a year now and decided there is no time like January to try and start something new.  For those who haven't heard of it, ten on ten is about taking ten pictures throughout your day on the tenth day of every month.  Hopefully next month I'll do a better job of spreading them a little more throughout the day, but for the first month, I was just glad I actually got 10.

Starting the new year off right

Our day started off lazy and quiet....and recovering, some of us were definitely recovering from the night before.
Around 11 we decided we should probably get our kiddos out of the house or we were all going to go crazy!

We headed to the Encinitas Ranch putting green so Andy could help Addison and Graham try out their new clubs that Poppy and Nana gave them for Christmas.  It went pretty well, and I think this is a GREAT activity that Andy can do to bond with our kids, just the THREE of them.

Andy was pretty insistent that he teach both kids the proper grip, to which I say....good luck.  It's hard enough teaching them how to hold a pencil the right way, let alone interlacing fingers and such while swinging a club.  They were really trying to get it right though.

After the golf outing, we headed to the park to get some bike practice in.
Addison decided that yesterday was a perfect day to take off her training wheels.
She did great!!!  She definitely still needs some practice, but she's getting the hang of it.

I am also going to be trying something new this year as far as resolutions go.
I love taking pictures but I never want to lug around my big camera whenever we're just doing the everyday stuff.  Because of this, I feel like I don't have the random, catching life as it happens pictures of my kids.  My phone is a lot easier to have on hand ....it's almost like a 5th appendage, sad to say.
So, I'm going to try this 365 project on Instagram.
If you want to follow me, I'm mbparsons on Instagram.
The idea is to take a picture of each kid EVERY day.  I might be getting in over my head, but I just thought it would be cool to look back and see an entire year documented.  And it might help me get better at taking pictures with my phone.  =)...still trying to figure that out.
So I won't be putting these on the blog that much, but will hopefully do something kind of fun with it at the end of the year.  To give you an idea, here on the ones from the first two days.  Two for two people!

 #365daysofgraham Day 2

#365daysofaddisonbrye Day 1

as you can see, we didn't get out of our pajamas on day 2.  =)
